The Clinical Comparison Between Tokyo Guidelines and A Novel Auxiliary Scoring System in Guiding the Urgent Drainage of Acute Cholangitis

Abstract

To assess the predictive power of Tokyo Guidelines (TG)18/13 and TG07 for the urgent drainage of Acute Cholangitis (AC) and establish a novel auxiliary scoring system that could be a supplement to the guidelines described above. Methods. A total of 197 patients diagnosed with AC were retrospectively studied and the time interval from admission to urgent drainage was considered as the dependent variable, while a series of factors were considered as the independent variables. Results. Five factors including platelet count3.13 mg/dL, direct bilirubin>0.81 mg/dL and Charcot’s triad were identified as significant predictive factors for urgent drainage.
